- I've talked with faculty friends who have taught in the Grady at Oxford program. They have given me practical tips from how to do laundry to where to buy groceries to some of their favorite dining establishments.
- I have UK, England and Oxford guidebooks scattered about the house.
- I'm following the news via BBC You can too -- www.bbc.co.uk/oxford/news/
- I just found this webcam. It's down right now, but should be cool if it comes back up soon. www.bbc.co.uk/oxford/content/webcams/oxford_high_st_webcam.shtml
So, what are you doing to prepare? Oh, I suppose I should think about what I'll pack, too...

Does anyone know if they sell Splenda in England? Pretty weird question I know, but I use it all the time and need to know if I should pack some with me. haha
I'm not sure. I did a quick Google search and didn't find a definitive answer. You might search "splenda" and "England". I tried "splenda" and "UK". You could also e-mail the UGA at Oxford address and see if some of the regulars to Oxford can answer your question.
I always have a hard time organizing all the details of big projects (like our trip) and found this great program to help organize everything. It's called Free Mind (link here: http://freemind.sourceforge.
net/wiki/index.php/Main_Page)
And it's a mapping software that's really useful for organizing all those details and great for papers! It's ADHD kid approved! Just thought someone else might find a use for it as well.
There is a UK site for Splenda:

The name for the stuff is sucralose, so it might be marketed under a different brand name. The UK site suggests it exists over there, but to be honest I don't recall seeing it when I taught in '06.
Sainsbury's is a grocery just around the corner from the Trinity gate (walk out, hand a right, go to the intersection and look over near the Border's). It's the most likely spot nearby.
